    3. Hi Everybody, Part of my Family first settled in Quebec, then moved to Smith's Falls, Ontario and then to Watertown, Jefferson County, NY. I have just posted 5 pages of pictures on the LANARK County, Ontario site- http://www.rootsweb.com/~onlanark/ When you get to that site, go to the PICTURE section and then look for the page that is titled " CARTLAND and related families." There you will find 36 pictures from my grandmother and great grandmothers photo album. Most of the pictures are unknown to me. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who can identify any of the photos. Some of the surnames associated with this line are: The three main lines are DUDLEY, SHAW, CARTLAND other lines that "could be" connected are McCANN, DAWSON, BOND, GILMAN, McCLEAN, CONLIN, MARKS, CORBETT, CAMPBELL, McDONALD, ALBRIGHT, PAYNE, JOHNSTON, CAMERON, McBRIDE, COOPER DAVIS and probably some others I don't know about. Please check it out. Thanks Carol

    3. Diane, Do you have the ancestry of Anthony Shaw? Is he a descendant of Anthony Shaw b. c1628 of Boston, Portsmouth, RI and Little Compton, RI? If I had the direct line from Anthony to the earliest known Shaw in New England, I may be able to help. 3. I am so sorry. I forgot to put that information at the end. Jonathan Smith lived and died in Mecca, Trumbull County, Ohio. I don't know where he was born. I know he was a veteran of the War of 1812. His father, William Smith, was born (1782) in Preston, Connecticut, married to Betsey Wilbur. Her father was Joseph Wilbur, born 1756, in Preston, CT, so she may have been born there, too. William is buried in Grand, Pennsylvania, and Betsey is buried in Mecca, Ohio. Jonathan Smith's wife, Anna Palmer Brown, was born in Griswold, Connecticut, died in East Mecca, Ohio. One of their daughters, Maria Brown Smith, was born/died in Mecca, Ohio. Warren Shaw was born in Johnstown, New York. His parents were John and Persis Shaw. Reverend Shaw started up the Deuryter Church in Fulton County, New York, but I don't know where they were born or where they died. They are the ones I am researching presently. Warren Shaw's wife, Samantha Millington, was born in New York--(perhaps in Russia, Herkimer County, since her father, Deacon Nathan Millington, was buried there, in 1853). Warren and Samantha's son--one of them--died in Mecca, Ohio. His wife, Maria Brown Smith also died in Ohio--is buried in Mecca. Their descendents also lived in and around Mecca--except for me and my daughters. "Patricia H. Jane Many thanks for the chart. Yes I could read it o.k. I've put into the attached as much as I know for now, though I think this will build as I'm getting the family interested now. Please let me know if you can read it o.k. as I said before I'm quite new at all this. If you can your questions for the most part will be answered. If not then I'll try a different way or form of file. All the best for now.....distant relative Martin

Would love additional information on descendants of Benjamin Shaw and Hannah Terrell [her parents info is from Ancestry.com and may not be correct?].
