I looked at this obit and realized he could not of been 87 in 1911. Went back and rechecked and his correct date of death is April, 1935 Victoria Brittain Allen ----- Original Message ----- From: Victoria <Flower2@sofnet.com> To: <SHAW-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 08, 2001 10:23 AM Subject: [SHAW] ERASTUS D. I live across the street from the Lattter Day Saints Genealogical Library in Cincinnati (just moved here in July, and didn't discover that until December, because it's inside a church). I do have a query though. Has anyone any information on or are they related to a landowner named Jesse L. Shaw who owned most of Littleton, NC (Halifax Co.)during the 19th Century? -----Original Message----- From: Victoria [mailto:Flower2@sofnet.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 07, 2001 3:14 PM To: SHAW-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SHAW] Shaws Obits Dear List, It seems that everyone is in accord as far as me getting obits and putting the SHAW information to the list. Does anyone else have a gen library near their house? Ok, I just saw that tomorrow afternoon we will have thunder showers. Well as you all know we don't do anything during those lighting storms here in Joplin or anyplace that has computers. But if everything goes the way I am mentally planning it now I will go in the morning and attempt to get them online some time tomorrow after noon. The next day they are talking snow so will have to do this in the am of tomorrow. I am not taking requests and looking for certain names. I will just get the oldest obits I can find. This way I can get more information faster. IF you should by any chance find someone that I have chosen to write about to be family then all it would cost you is a stamped envelope to get it to you. The library only charges a dime for copies and I certainly would be happy to spend a dime to help someone put their family back together. Hi, Odell! My family migrated from Walker Co, GA, and first settled in Palarm. They spread out a bit into Conway, Vilonia, Little Rock. My early ancestors are buried in New Liberty Cemetary in Faulkner Co. My great uncle was Cliff Shaw, from Coleman Dairy, and he was also a college referee. I still have family in the Little Rock area. and in Russellville, where my grandfather moved. Marci
