Sue... The closest to James Wesley SHAW I can find in my data is a: Wesley SHAW who m. a Cora CHEATHAM on 1 DEC, 1898, near Boston, Bowie Co, TX. No ch. mentioned; no further info. (Source: the Bowie Co Marriage Records) Nothing definite, but, location near OK and the dates of your Cecil and Clarence's births (1902 and 1903) might be worth more investigation. Hope this helps... Would love to find more information on this family!! Claude L. SHAW, son of Frank and Perlina "Lina" (Waggoner) SHAW, was born in New York in about 1872-1874. Frank and Perlina lived in Chautauqua County, then Buffalo, NY. In Buffalo, their address in the 1890's was 683 Prospect Ave. By 1900, Perlina had died. Claude lived at the same Buffalo address with Edgar & Alice BENNET. I haven't been able to find out who Claude married. On 7 July 1907, Claude's grandfather, Mahlon Doan WAGGONER, wrote in a letter, "My grandson Claude Shaw is in Eastern Sonoma, Mexico for a mining firm from Buffalo NY. He is a machinist, has a wife and two little boys." I believe the two sons of Claude L. SHAW were: i. Frank Kehrer SHAW. ii. John Robert SHAW. Thanks for ANY help! Elaine Waiters ewaiters@thegrid.net

Charley F. Shaw and Clora Shaw were the first and fifth children of Amos Newton and Nannie W. Shaw. Charley was born 5 Dec 1880 in Arkansas, probably Faulkner Co, and died 28 Feb 1898. Clora was born 9 Jan 1889 and died 22 Jan 1889. They are buried with their parents and siblings in New Liberty Cemetery, Faulkner Co, AR. Amos and Nannie had 15 children, but we have only found 8. Some of the children's gravestones are broken, so we believe the rest of the children may be now in unmarked graves. If anyone has any info on this family, we'd really appreciate some leads! Donald, You are more than welcome to the draft card information. I just got a scanner installed over the weekend and I don't have the vaguest idea how to use it. Of course I'll learn, but maybe not quickly. Would you like it by snail mail? They're not easy to read, printed off microfilm at the Nat. Archives. David Stewart Shaw was my father and Kenneth was my uncle. My father was born in St. John's NF in 1885. Do your Shaws have a connection to Newfoundland? They emigrated from County Wexford, maybe Scotland before that. Was there a Robert Shaw in your County Down Shaw's? This is such fun. Shirley (Shaw) Padden
