Hi, I am new to the list and geneology. I am searching for George K. Shaw who lived in Vermont at some point in time, was married to Emma A. (Jones) Shaw. They had a daughter named Sarah M. Shaw in 1877 who married Perley Shedrick Sharrow, also of Vermont. Does this ring any bells with anyone??? Thanks a bunch, Stacey

I have no direct ties to a Grennberry SHAW, but I see constant references to one in Chickasaw County, Mississippi records (where I research SHAWs). Is this one the same as yours? Here is my "D" posting. This is my #1 brick wall and reqular users of this site will note that this is the third posting. DANIEL SHAW - Searching for Daniel Shaw (19 Jan 1784, NC?? - 14 Oct 1850, Haywood County, TN). He married Sarah McNeill (4 April 1800, Cumberland County, NC - 18 Jan 1859, Haywood County, TN) on 21 January 1824 in Cumberland County, NC. Given the difference in ages I have always suspected that she was not his first wife but have nothing to go on, just a guess. Perhaps he wasn't from North Carolina at all but somehow wound up there after death of a first wife. There is pretty good evidence that this Daniel Shaw was in the War of 1812 but no proof. Flora Ann Shaw (1827-1870)- daughter of Daniel and Sarah - married Shelby Currie in 1826 in Haywood County, TN. They subsequently went to Pine Bluff, Jefferson, AR and returned to Haywood County, TN. Any leads greatfully appreciated. Thanks Carlton Currie Houston, TX
My D Shaw is Daniel Shaw (all info is unsourced), born in PA in 1704. He was married to Catherine (buried in Union Co., SC), and had Samuel (1752-1805), Gilbert (15 Feb 1757, York Co., PA - 3 Feb 1842, Jasper Co., GA), William (15 Feb 1757, York Co., PA - 26 Feb 1843), Patrick, John, and David Shaw as sons. According to a cousin, Gilbert moved with his parents in 1765 to the mountains of South Carolina. Gilbert, and his brothers Daniel and William all served in the SC line during the Revolution. They were large red-headed Scots-Irish. Gilbert and William later settled in Green Co., GA. William returned to SC. Gilbert stayed. Gilbert settled in the Shady Dale area of Jasper Co., GA. All of the information above is from family with NO sources. I would love to know any sources on this family, so I can begin documenting and finding accurate info. I am from the Gilbert Shaw line.
