Looking for more info on Elizabeth Martha Shaw, born abt 1825 in Kentucky to Theophilus Shaw and Elizabeth Leachman. She wed Calvin Jesse Morrow on April 6, 1856 in Missouri. I think she died May 1860 in Missouri. Not sure where. Possibly counties might be Putnam or Boone County. Children were John H. Morrow, born abt 1858 and Mary Elizabeth Morrow, born April 1860. They were living with their grandfather (Theophilus) on the 1870 census in Oregon. Thanks for your help Susan Shaw Gardner [email protected]
I am looking for info on Elizabeth Shaw who wed James Warren in Mercer Co., KY on 09 Jul 1804. I know she was the daughter of Daniel Shaw, but no other info. Any help appreciated. Susan Shaw Gardner [email protected]
Thanks so much for this feature! It has led me to researching and expanding my Shaws, which in turn after many hours on the pages of the census has accidently led to finding out that my ancestor Ruth Buttman Shaw, daughter of Nathaniel Shaw and the long sought but never found Pattie Houghs is actually Ruth Bucknam Shaw, daughter of Nathaniel and Martha Hawkes Shaw. Another brick wall comes tumbling down! Here are some of the E + F Shaws I came across so far: Edward Hawkes Shaw, son of Nathaniel Shaw and Martha Hawkes, born June 1817 in Buckfield, Oxford, ME. Married Jerusha Hancock Wight of Otisfield. Children: 1. Frank Joseph b 17 Oct 1840 2. Burton b 26 Mar 1842 3. Emily b 4 May 1844 4. Milford Norton b 22 Sep 1846 5. Asa Robinson b 4 Mar 1850 Emily Shaw b 4 May 1844 in Buckfield (?), Oxford, ME, daughter of Edward Hawkes Shaw and Jerusha Hancock Wight Spouse ? Children? Frank Joseph Shaw, son of Edward Hawkes Shaw and Jerusha Hancock Wight, born 17 Oct 1840 in Buckfield (?), Oxford, ME. Married Unice T ? (b July 1852). No children. Elmer R Shaw, son of Nathaniel T Shaw and Amanda B ?, born 1855. Died presumably before 1870. Ellen A Shaw, daughter of Nathaniel T Shaw and Amanda B ?, born 1865. Spouse ? Children? Elizabeth Shaw, daughter of Joseph Shaw and Elizabeth Partridge, born 23 Aug 1664 in Hampton, Rockingham, NH. Married Aaron Sleeper 23 May 1682. Died 27 Oct 1708. Children: 1. Elizabeth Sleeper b 1683 2. Moses Sleeper b Jan 1684/85 3. Thomas Sleeper b 3 Nov 1686 4. Aaron Sleeper b 23 Jul 1688 5. Joseph Sleeper b 14 jun 1690 6. John Sleeper b 14 Jun 1690 7. Samuel Sleeper b 1 Dec 1692 8. Elisha Sleeper b 9 May 1694 9. Hezekiah Sleeper b 11 May 1696 (List is probably not complete)

Seeking information about Ezekial (Ezekiel) Shaw, 1838-1917; his father, Zachariah (Zechariah, Zacheas), 1817-after 1860; and his grandfather, Hezekiah, 1785 in VA -1863 in MD. I have considerable information about this family which I'll share. G.W.Shaw
Let's not give up...we have the whole alphabet to go... During March, let's share information on all the Shaws hiding whose first names starts with either E or F. Share what you have found on your earliest families, ask for help on lost ones, and of course, don't just limit it to E and F given names. My father was Donald Ray Shaw born in Brownton, WV August 2, 1928 to Lee E. Shaw and Viola ??? Shaw. They lived in the Grafton, WV area in 1930 or so the Census taker stated, and I was sent a copy of the Census but no longer have it as my last computer died a sudden death, and was not ready to give to me its contents before it crashed and died. Sorry. That is all the info on any Shaw's that we have so far. I do not know anymore about his parents until my brother receives a copy of his birth certificate, soon I hope. Donald married my mother, Phyllis Mae Satterfield in Fairmont, WV on DEC. 8, 1948, and to this union three children were born. Son, Don Jr. born 1/5/50 in Fairmont, daughter (me) born 2/16/51, in Akron, Ohio, and another son, born March 1953 and died May 1953, in VA. They divorced in the 60"s and he married a lady named Gladys ??? and they had a son Jerry. They lived in Lebanon, VA. and they moved to Mogadore, Ohio, and he passed away in 1994. That is all we have so far. Hope it may help in some way. Sorry if it doesn't, and when we get his birth records, I will send to you any info not already included in this email. Sincerely, Sharon Shaw Lockhart
Delilah SHAW of Wake Co, NC, reportedly was a daughter of Joseph SHAW (wife unknown). Joseph enlisted in the militia from Bucks, Co, PA, and fought in the Revolution. He and his father, Hugh SHAW, are found in Wake Co after the Revolution. Hugh died in the early 1800s, but Joseph was living with Delilah and her husband, Drury KING, into the 1840s. Despite efforts in Bucks Co, PA, I have found little or nothing more about them. Any help with this SHAW family would be greatly appreciated. Tom Aiken Virginia Beach

Hi Susie, I don't know about the ones you mentioned, but I do know that another way is Schaw......my ancestors from New Jersey spelled their name Schaw. Connie Working for God on earth does not pay much, but His Retirement plan is out of this world.
In my family the "Shaw" was also Show and Schow depending on the generation. My father changed his Schow back to Shaw of earlier generations. Cheers, Necia A.
