My earliest known SHAW was Hugh, who married Margery HOUGH in Bucks Co, PA, November 1755. Their son, Joseph SHAW, was born abt 1758. Joseph enlisted in the PA militia and served in the Revolutionary War. Afterward Hugh, Joseph and another son, William, are found in Johnson and Wake Counties, NC. Hugh died about 1812. I do not know Joseph's wife, nor Hugh's parents. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tom Aiken Virginia Beach

Just so we don't upset any of our ancestors from Scotland, SCOTCH is a drink, SCOTTISH is a nationality. My Shaws were from Derbyshire, around Borrowash/Ockbrook through most of the 19th century. Anyone else got Shaws from round that area?
