    3. Hello Jim: My problem, lack of records!!! But I wonder if we are working on the same or related family. Isaac would have been born bet. 1880-1895 in Baltimore MD. or surrounding area. It is my understanding that my grandfather was his only son and that after the death of Isaac, Janet Jack (Shaw) remarried in Maryland. So I suppose my question would be who do you have as the sons and grandsons of Greenbury??? Any help would be appreciated. Sincerely, Peggie Shaw ----- Original Message ----- From: Jim Shaw<mailto:[email protected]> To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, May 12, 2005 2:07 PM Subject: RE: [SHAW] John SHAW. 1815-1850. His father was Isaac Shaw from Maryland. Isaac married a Janet Jack in New York City, he went there to work on the Holland Tunnel. I have had a hard time tracking them down. I had been told Isaac was born in Scotland, which really fouled me up, turns out he was born in MD and his family came from PA, prior to that. I have had the hardest time trying to track them down. 1. Jesse A. Shaw Sr./Jr.
    2. Jesse Alfred Shaw Jr. was born in Crawford County, WI in 1855. He was the son of Jesse Alfred Shaw Sr. born about 1810 in Ohio and who lived in Hancock and Shelby Indiana most of his adult life. I believe, but have never been able to prove that he was the son of Patrick Shaw of Warren County, OH and Grandson of John Shaw of Iredell County, NC and then Warren County, OH. Jesse Sr. and his family moved to Wisconsin about 1852 where they settled and several of his children were married. Jesse Jr. migrated with his Mother and Sister to Dayton, WA in 1878 and lived in an around Walla Walla, Dayton and Pomeroy, WA until his death in Walla Walla in 1927. Jesse has several brothers and sisters that I have not located, including John Robinson Shaw who remained and died in Wisconsin, Benjamin Shaw who was last recorded in Hancock Co. Indiana in 1850, Charlotte Shaw. Mary Shaw's obituary indicated that only three of her children were living at the time of her death in 1895, Jesse, his sister Huldah and one child "east of the mountains" (the Rockies), likely one of Jesse Jr.'s sisters. We have also found that Jesse Jr. Was in Iowa in Red Oak county at the time of the 1870 census living and working as a day laborer. The first paper record that I have found of Jesse Shaw Sr. was his marriage to Mary Harris in Franklin County, IN in 1834. His probate record at death was in Rush County, IN in 1862 but I have found no actual death date or birth date for Jesse Sr.

    1. Colonel Shaw married to Marion (Mary Ann?) Jeffers, India?
    2. Rod & Glen Smith
    3. I'm trying to trace a couple who probably married in India in the late 1800s. She was Marion (or Mary Ann) Jeffers, probably of Madras, and he was a Captain Shaw, later Colonel Shaw. I presume the marriage was in India, but it may have even been back in England. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

    3. Today is great! just made a connection in my family history! To Robert Warren.. DANIEL Shaw was born abt 1760 somewhere to someone. with 1st wife unknown he had the following children (all mentioned in his will in 1820) Zachary (or Zachariah) who died before Daniel did. (per will) Elizabeth who wed James Warren 9 Jul 1804 in Mercer Co. KY William "Wiley" M. who wed Sally Rowland (Reland) 3 Dec 1821, KY Theophilus who wed Elizabeth Leachman 16 May 1820 Mercer Co., KY Leban or Seban or Seborn living in Simpson Co. when Daniel died Simeon living in Simpson Co. when Daniel died. 2nd wife of Daniel Shaw was Elizabeth "Betsy" Pipes (wed 31 Dec 1821) children: James Perry born Sep 1819 wed Elmira Crowdis (1844) and Felicia Ann born abt 1817 or 1818 (Elizabeth wed Jacob Harmon 31 Dec 1821 and had 4 more children.) I don't have any more info on Zachary or Elizabeth, but do have more info on the other children of Daniel. My line comes down through Theophilus. Theophilus went to Boone Co. and Putnam Co., Missouri, then to Baker, Oregon, and then some went to California (Merced Co.) and others to Washington State. Would like to have your info on Elizabeth and James Warren. I am willing to share any and all of my info. My top priority is locating where Daniel was born and who his parents were. There was a William Shaw who wed Ann Porter Harbison and a Thomas Shaw who wed Catherine Ripperdan who were all in Mercer Co., KY at the same time as my Daniel. Not sure if or how they might be connected. Sorry about the lengthy note but excited about a new "cousin." 1. Seeking ancestors of Greenbury Washington Shaw
    2. Jim Shaw
    3. Seeking pedigree of Greenbury Washington Shaw (aka Greenbery, Greenberry) who married Anne Eliza Travers (aka Travis) 1859 est. and had a son James Emory Shaw born 1 Oct 1863 in MD. The census of 1850, 1870, and 1880 reports Greenbury working as a sail maker living with Wm Travers (Anne Eliza's father) in Baltimore City, Baltimore MD. The 1890 Census lists him living at 1902 E. Baltimore, Baltimore, MD and working as a clerk. This may be a law clerk position as the family oral history has him in the legal profession somehow. James inherited land from Greenbury on Travers Island, Lewisetta, VA. Anne Eliza lived in the period of 1839 - 16 Jan 1903 and was buried in Montrose Methodist Church Grave Yard, Lewisetta, VA. 3. My great-grandfather was John H. SHAW; I know he was born in 1845 and died in 1911; I do not know who his parents were, or if they immigrated from another country. I believe her father was Ezra Smith, but I do not know, definately, who her mother was. I also don't know where Libby was born or where her parents were born. Any help would be most appreciated!
