    3. Lets hear from anyone researching Shaws whose first names started with an M or N. The older, the better. Of course, all other Shaw inquiries welcome also. Keep in mind, it makes it easier on everyone if instead of hitting the "reply," just start a new email to [email protected] with YOUR "M" or "N" Shaw name in the Subject line. This has been fun...we will make it through the whole alphabet by the end of the year. I appreciate the list managers letting us do this. Susan Shaw Gardner

    3. Hi Alice, Doesn't look like our John Shaw is the same. Our John Shaw was born 10 Feb 1857 in North Carolina. He moved sometime to Tennessee where he married Sarah Presley on 25 Aug 1875. He died 8 Feb 1926. This is such a wonderful (but frustrating) hobby! I have been "stuck" on John's father Jasper N. Shaw for over two years. Beginning to think he just fell out of the sky and didn't have parents (grin). Good luck to you, Kay --- [email protected] wrote: > My grand pa was John Shaw > he was born in ky. but moved licking mo Texas co > he married Cora Rogers in dent county in 1865 > they lived in Licking Mo. > If you can help me in any way i sure would > appriciate it > thank you sincerly > Alice Shaw Baldridge > [email protected] > > > ==== SHAW Mailing List ==== > To unsubscribe: [email protected] OR > [email protected] > Place the word unsubscribe in the body of the > message. > > Kay Shaw Have a splendiferous day!

    3. Thank you sooooo much for responding, Viola. Looks as if we are not connected. The Jasper N. Shaw that I am "stuck" on was born in the U.S. in 1832 and the census shows that his parents were born in North Carolina. Happy 4th of July to you, Kay --- Viola Seward <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello. My SHAW is John SHAW who married Hannah > Wheatcroft in Derby, England. > Johns brother George came in 1819 as well. 3. I don't have any record of my Shaws being in MO, but it is possible. I have found them in GA in 1850, then in AL in 1860. Some stayed there, others came to AR in the 1880s. What kind of dates do you have? I don't know how long they were in GA, or when they came there, and while almost every family had a "John" my grandfather was John Thomas Shaw. 2. Hi Lula- I'd love to have any Shaw information that you can share with me. I also have been on a life rebuilding for the past year, lost my husband just a year ago and I let my genealogy go on hold. Maybe it's time to start digging for lost relatives, keeps the mind busy and helps pass the time. Anything you have will be greatly appreciated. Sue

    3. Sue, I have just discovered a whole bunch of messages that had been lost somewhere in my computer. Yours is one of them. Did I ever send this information? If not, do you still want it? I have been so busy with the paper, and trying to rebuild my life, for the past two years, that I have not worked on genealogy. I have promised to send things to so many people, and now don't remember just which promises I kept. Let me know---- Lula Holeman Editor: www.packratgazette.com Co-editor: Life In The Ozarks www.lifeintheozarks.com

    1. John B. Shaw Washington Co. NY
    2. In researching my Shaw family I have come across some interesting information on a John B. Shaw (I do not believe he is my relative). His middle name may be "Bliss". Some of the information I have indicate John B. Shaw made a will in 1863 in Stephentown, Rensselear County. He died May 8, 1865 Granville, Washington County in 1865 and the will was probated in 1868. Some names listed in the will include Laura, is wife, John Bliss of Brooklyn, William Harris Lord of Brooklyn, as executors. Frances Elizabeth Lord Bliss, Eliza Lord Shaw, Laura Catherine Shaw, William Harris Lord as children. And also referes to a John B. Shaw 2nd as a grandson. If anyone is interested in more information on this family you can contact me off the list and I'll share what I have. Frank Hotaling of Spokane WA. [email protected]
