    3. Bonnie, 1910 Danvers, Essex, MA shows at 8 Braman St, renting John P Baker age 37, machinist in shoe factory, b MA, parents b MA, second marriage, m 7 yrs Nettie A Baker age 33, b MA, parents b MA, first marriage, mother of 1, 1 living Pearl S Baker age 5, b MA, parents b MA Augusta Shaw age 64, wd mother in law to HOH, b MA, parents b MA, mother of 3, 1 living 1900 Danvers, Essex, MA on Forest St John PH Baker, age 27 [b Jun 1872], shoe maker, single, b MA, parents b MA; boarder in HH of Augustus Verry [or Vorry] in same HH Hannah Baker, age 68, wd mother of 4, 1 living, [lots of grief back then!] b Dec 1831 MA; likely John's mother Hoping for clues to John's first marriage, but it must have been very short if single 1900 and m 7 yrs to Nettie in 1910. 1920 John, Nettie and Pearl appear at 11 Wadsworth, Danvers, owning home. John is edge setter at shoe factory. This time John shows ME as father's POB 1930 John is alone, wd, renting at 141 Holten St, Danvers [owned by Thomas J Kelly]; occupation written over, but does say shoe something. Again lists father's POB as ME. No house number is given for the 1900 Forest St listing, but Mapquest shows all the other years' addresses in same neighborhood and Forest St begins just 1/2 mile away. 1880 Marblehead, Essex, MA William W Baker, 56, b ME, father b MA, mother b ME; turn-shoemaker [nearly everyone on this census page is employed in some type of shoe-making]. Says unemployed 8 mos that yr and in disability column lists "dumb ague" Hannah A Baker, 48, b MA, parents b MA, dressmaking, "heart complaint" Percy H Baker, 7 [note the John PH in 1900-with the other similarities this has to be Nettie's husband] 1870 Marblehead see Wm W and Hannah A with a William J Baker age 16 and Amy M 9 mos. 1860 Marblehead William W, shoemaker, and Hannah A Baker in HH of Thomas J Peach, fisherman--no other Bakers shown, so possibly the 16 year old William from 1870 is not their child, since he should be shown here 6 years old and is not--cannot tell for sure about him, could be a nephew. But Amy M must be one of John PH Baker's sibs that didn't live. Marriage record likely 16 Apr 1902 to 15 April 1903, Danvers, Essex, MA for Nettie A Shaw and John PH Baker. 3. Gary, I posted from the ancestry board and I see it is there with my signature. I am not quite clear on how these posts get to the list so maybe that is where it got dropped. I was not advertising the book, but I had referred to it to a few people and said I was trying to find my notes about it. Came across them filing today and did not want to forget. I haven't yet bought the cd since I only now found the notes, so I cannot say how good it is, but it appeared to be a good resource. If you have a better resource, by all means use it. I got the idea both from the bulletin board and the fact that his other books deal with New Brunswick, CAN, that it focussed on the SHAW's there, with background info on their roots in the US, etc. Hard to tell from what I scribbled who Christopher Shaw is--when/if I find out I will let you know. My Shaws are mostly in ME and I was researching other families at the PANB, so just jotted this source down for future reference and didn't look into it while I was up there, time being short I wanted to only look at what I couldn't see later elsewhere. 1. The Shaw Family
    2. Thomas Shaw, born about 1847 in AL, married Rena (possibly Stafford), b about 1850 in GA. They had 6 children:James - born about 1882 in AL, Celia - born about 1884 in AL, Lillie - born about 1887 in AL, Emmitt - born about 1893 in AL, Thomas Jr - born about 1899 in AL and Clovy (hard to read) born in 1902 in GA. Thomas and Rena moved to Clay County, GA between 1899-1900. They were listed in the 1900 census for Clay County. Thomas Sr died between 1902-1910. By 1910 James, Celia and Lillie had moved out. (I have marriage and death information on Emmitt and Thomas,Jr - he was my great grandfather) James was listed in the 1920 census for Clay County. He was married to Lucy Woodard. They had a stillborn in 1919. The death certificate supplied Lucy's maiden name. No marriage record has been found. There was a Gene Shaw married to a Lucy Woodard in the Clay County marriage book, but not sure if James and Gene are the same person. There was a Eugene Shaw in the 1930 census for Clay County married to a Lucy. Their children's names were: Dudley and James. Is James, Gene and Eugene the same person? A Celia was listed in the Clay County marriage book - married to an Angus Stanley Jan 31, 1903. They were not listed in the 1910 census for Clay County, but were listed in the 1920 census for Clay County living with a Lovett Cornelous. They were listed as boarders. Could this Celia be Thomas and Rena's daughter? A Lillie was listed in the Clay County marriage book - married to a Lovett Cornelous Jan 5, 1919. A Lillie cornelous died Oct 8, 1919. According to the death certificate her parents were Thomas Shaw and Rena Stafford. Is this Lillie the daughter of Thomas and Rena? The family history of Thomas and Rena Shaw can be found at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~stewart071104/index.html There is also information at world connect. -- WOW! 3. George, There was a New Lotts at one time in Kings County, NY There is also a Long Island in NB which is partially in Queen's county NB, and appears to overlap Wickam Parish--It looks like your first Timothy may have died in either place. Locations pre American Revolution in NYS and after 1783/84 in New Brunswick suggests Loyalists--have you tried the resources at the PANB? They can be accessed at http://archives.gnb.ca/Archives/Default.aspx?L=EN I will tell you ahead of time that Shaw does not appear in the Old Soldier's database though. Also Queens County Genweb has many vital records at http://www.rootsweb com/~nbqueens/gageangbapt-ns.htm#S There is quite a few good Wickham records if I remember correctly this is the jumping off point to get to them--I am not at my main computer now, so cannot tell for sure. Will print out your email and take it to the next Dutchess County Gen Soc meeting, you never know, could get lucky.
