    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: phil2012 Surnames: Shaw Wallace Carnduff Flynn Flinn Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.shaw/6664/mb.ashx Message Board Post: David Carnduff and Elizabeth Wallace who were married in Kilmarnock 1795 are related to me. David is my 4th great grandfather. I would be interested in learning anything about their son David (my 3rd ggfather) who married Janet Shaw and had at least one child, Ann (my 2nd ggmother). Ann married Hugh Flinn (or Flynn) and I descend from their son Hugh Flynn who was born in Paisley and latter settled in Barrhead, Renfrewshire, Scotland. I have some records of David Carnduff - 1866 death record and many records about his brother, Thomas etc. David was a carpet weaver I also have a potential census record from 1841 census for the senior David. I find it very difficult getting any information about David and his wife Janet Shaw and I suspect that David emigrated for a short time to Ireland where he may have married Janet. I have checked the Ulster Historical Society database but there is no confirmation of this. Only Ann Carnduff - recorded as Ann Flynn in the 1881 census states that she was born in Ireland. I would be interested in any information about either David Carnduff or about Elizabeth Wallace or! Janet Shaw. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: Celia_Twomey Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.shaw/1019.1120.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello Mary, Thankyou for contacting me. Unfortunately, I don't think we are looking at the same families as mine all lived in Lancashire. So far, I have traced my Markham antecedents to a Richard Markham who married a Mary Hall on 12th April 1819 in Blackburn, Lancashire. There was some suggestion in the family that they could be Irish but I have no evidence to support this as yet. The Boltons, I have traced back to a John Bolton born c1813 in Livesey, Lancashire He married a Ellen Hayhurst (or Hurst) in about 1832. They lived in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire. Let me know if this helps. Celia Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. She first married a John Douglas as far as we know then after he died, she married my gg grandfather Joshua Robbins in 1826 in Ontario Canada...we assume she was born about 1800 and died around 1840 as she is not found in any of the census after then. It is also thought that she arrived in Canada in the early 1820's...but cannot find any documentation on this or whether or not she had siblings by the name of James and Mathew(these are two who also came from Antrim Ireland to Canada about the same time she did, and lived in close vicinity to each other. I am trying to find any information on her and I've been hitting brick walls with my search, any info you may give me would be most appreciated. Author: smithshr Surnames: Shaw, Noble Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.shaw/3092.4.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi sorry for the delayed reply. John Shaw was the son of Neil Shaw who was born SCT 1809 in Colonsay. He himself, John was born in Canada - PEI - in 1862 and emigrated to Boston Mass, Suffolk Co - married Jeannette Ida Johnson from PEI as well. As for Franklin Daniel - he is the son of Neil Shaw born 1855 - and this Neil is the son of Neil 1809 ....Franklin and Minnie first moved to Rhode Island where a daughter was born and died before age of 3 around 1903. died in Cranston Howard RI??????? think this use to be name of hospital but can't find grave of daughter Marion Rachel Shaw....they then disappear and from a family bible newsppaper clipping I read that Minnie Noble died in Houlton Maine------ I assume Franklin died in Maine before Minnie..can't find them as yet via internet buried in Maine... The only other child I am aware they had was Helen Shaw born sometime after 1903 in either RI or Maine? I have picts of her and this family but can't find Helen either.... Franklin was born July 6, 1880 bat Sept 7 1883 in PEI Canada - not sure of Minnie at all but I am told they married 1900 - where I do not know Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
