Thank you all who have responded with your experiences to the different programs. Jack, This is my experience. I have only used the FTM program since I started my research. I really, really liked it for its ease in use for all those years. But, the more experience I get under my belt with researching my line, the more limited I feel. Sharing my info with others just seems like it takes too many steps, and I feel like I am doing something FTM doesn't want to do. I have picked up the Generations program in my hands a thousand times in the software stores and have really been interested in it. I have downloaded the demo of The Master Genealogist and really like it. They, to me, seem very reasonably priced. It is just that I did't want to have to deal with numerous programs to keep my records, if I can get out of it. But after looking these two programs over, I might have to get both. I just don't know. This is a hard decision. Even though I am getting more experience under my belt, I still lack lots of experience. I feel like a pre-teen trying to "cross over".
