Anthony Sharp came from Virginia by way of Eastern Tennessee and in 1794 married Rachel Ellison (Allison) in Shelby. They had several children before moving on to Christian County and then to Madison County, Ky. He had a brother, John Sharp, about the same age as he (b ca. 1760-64) who may have come with him. I cannot pin down this John anywhere. He also had an uncle William Sharp who may have left Virginia also. Usually those heading west usually went with one or more famlily members, so I thought if you had Sharps in Shelby before 1800 they may be related to mine. What do you think? love joan
