Looking for information on John Sharp who married Martha Lay was (b.8/4/1861 d.10/6/1927 both are buried in Redcut Cemetery, Campbell Co. Tn. She was the daughter of William Dandy Lay. Seeking information on parents for John Sharp. John & Martha had the following children: Alfred, Lewis, Oscar, George Flem, Isham, Margaret, Rachel, and William.They are listed in the 1890 Union County Cenus. I have had no luck trying to locate parents for John Sharp. Some family members say his mother's name was Nancy or Louisa and she may have been unmarried or her maiden name was also Sharp. We believe she came to tennessee in the mid 1850's but from where???? Can anyone connect to this line of Sharps??? Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kathy Sharp Chasteen
