NC, so I would like to call attention to a book I came across recently. Worth S Ray's "The Mecklenberg Signers and Their Neighbors" mentions many Sharps in and around Mecklenberg County as well as allied families, particularly Alexanders. Descendants who moved to Tennessee or other states were also mentioned. References to these families are scattered throughout the text, so interested subscribers would probably need to go through the book. So far I have not been able to connect these Sharps to my husband's line, but I think they may be connected. His William Sharp was born about 1790 or '91 in Virginia and married Sarah Sally HANCOCK, b. about 1799,NC. I do not know where they were married. In 1850 and earlier they were in Bedford County TN, but they may have married in Wilson Co. TN where Sarah Hancock's parents lived.
