    3. I am looking for information on the following family from CLARK COUNTY, ILLINOIS. The information is only believed to be correct so far. GEORGE SHARP (abt. 1830-1877) married to ISABEL (he may have had a first wife named FRANCES). They had at least one child named JACOB SHARP (abt. 1856-1906) married to MARY ELIZABETH KELLEY (abt. 1853-1900). Their children were ALBERTA SHARP, FANNIE SHARP, OTIS SHARP, NELLIE SHARP, MEADE SHARP and ARA D. SHARP. I believe that Meade stayed in Clark County and operated the family farm. I believe all of the other children moved away from Clark County. GEORGE SHARP may have also had these children besides Jacob: JOSEPH LEANDER, NORA ELLEN, CHARLIE AND REBECCA M. GEORGE SHARP may have also had a brother named JACOB SHARP (abt. 1837-1896) who was married to SAREPTA J. Their children were LILLY L., CHARLEY, and POLLY. Sincerely, John W. Sharp

    3. I will search my database and see if I can come up with a match of your IL Sharp and my IL Sharp lines. Get back to you this evening. On my way to library. Does your George have a middle initial as in W. Ira Sharp Dennis Into 29 years of research on the SHARP family.

    3. I believe George's middle initial is B. I don't have a full middle name, however. 3. John, give me an age bracket/year. Was he 15 in 1850 or whatever you might have. I have two that could fit but I need a little more to know of the time line. Was he b. in IL? Where did you find him on census and when. Ira Sharp Dennis

    3. Tootie, I am going by very little that is documented. The information so far comes from family memories, some letters with names and a page of cemetery listings from the Rupp County Cemetery in Clark County, Illinois. I have not seen any census entries. George is, I believe, George B. Sharp born in 1829 if the cemetery entry is accurate. There is some reason to believe that George was born in Pennsylvania. Someone once told me that the 1870 census shows a George Sharp, age 40, born in Pennsylvania with seven children, one of whom was a Jacob, age 15 in 1870, which would fit with the Jacob I show as born in 1856. Also, I believe that George had two wives: Frances who died Septebember 15, 1861, and the second Isabel (may be Cunningham) who died in 1863. Does this help? I really appreciate you sticking with this. Sincerely, John W.
