I agree with the comment about the number of responses for Sharp Lines. However, didn't any of the various lines enter Penna. with the exception of my Sharp Line. The others seem to have gone south. I am back to 1780 and against a brick wall. I am wondering if my Sharps came up through Virginia since the southwest of Pa. was in contest between Virginia and Pa. for many years. My line is: Jacob Sharp married Nancy Hunter of Bertie or Hertford Co., NC, probably late 1700's. Their son, Col. Elisha Hunter Sharp married Martha Williams Battle 12/10/1837 in Lowndes Co. MISS. Their son, William Battle Sharp (Fort) married Sallie Bouldin Collier 1/2/1865 and their son (my grandfather), Hugh Franklin Fort, married Mary Ada Fulcher Wasson.
