George, I regret that the only information I have on Hulda's father John is what was included in the SHARP-List message. Based on your comments, it sounds as if there was a considerable connection between the Marshalls and the Sharps that may have gone on for several generations. I don't see an obvious link in this case, but since Hulda's father was from VA, it is likely there there was some relationship. There can't have been all that many of either family around at that time. I will hold your information in my Sharp file in case something turns up. I am new at this and just started hunting for relatives of my great grandmother Hulda (Sharp) Marshall. For what it is worth, my Marshalls seem to have come out of Berks County, PA before moving on to Logan County, OH. They were of German extraction. Some of them could have gone south into West Va and VA. Just in case you have additional information on any of these three Marshalls that you mentioned, my GGGG grandfather John Marshall came from Germany around 1736-1740 and settled with his parents in Berks County, PA ., on the banks of the Tulpehocken. It is reported that he made an agreement in Germany to pay for his passage from a port in Holland. It is also reported that he served as a soldier under George Washington during the Revolutionary War. His son Conrad Marshall, my GGG grandfather was born in1767 about 27 years after the family settled in Berks County. He repotedly served in the War of 1812. Conrad had a son, Conrad b 1798 in Berks County, PA. It was his son JohnMarshall, born 1830, who wound up in Logan County Ohio and married Hulda Sharp. Thanks for sharing your information. John F.
