Howard, I am not sure of the origin of Monroe in my gggrandfathers name. He is the son of Mary Ann Sharp (daughter of Samuel Sharp and granddaughter of John Sharp) I am not sure who his father was. Mary Ann married Jonathan TOLLE and changed his name to TOLLE. At some point he changed it back to Sharp. I am wondering if Monroe could have been his fathers last name.??? L.
