Please Lister's, Help me, help! I have been struggling with this for along time. Please can anyone give me a clue where my ggg grandfather Samuel Sharp came from?? I found Samuel Sharp age 50 in the 1850 census with wife Susanna age 47? and daughter Tamar age 13 and grand daughter Margret Yarnall age 4 in Willistown.I have not been able to determine from the various other Samuel Sharps where he came from in the earlier census.There's a few of them two in particular from the London Grove and New Garden area of Chester Co. but I think they are to old. My Samuel Sharp would of been born around 1799 or 1800, I think? There's a Samuel Sharp from the Lancaster area from what I got from the census index. Since there only seem to be a few Samuel Sharps of the time period in this area, I would like to find where he came from and the maiden name of Susanna. Does anyone have access to either marriage records or obits for this two. Is there any Sharp member's from the Delaware County or Chester Co area or Lancaster for that matter who has a Samuel Sharp ancestor who married a Susanna? He lived in Willistown as of 1850, but was not living by 1880. There is also a Samuel Sharp who served in the Civil War and possible died there. His wife then resided with daughter Tamar and husband Daniel Baker in Middletown. The person looking for the Samuel Sharp Line... Have you tried southwestern Pa.? I have a Sharp Line that first shows up there with a Joseph Sharp in 1780. I am sure that the family was in Pa. in prior generations. And... there are Samuels in this line.
