Hi, I'm new to this list. I'm researching my great grandma, Dovie Jean SHARP, born abt. 1894.. Her first name may be Louise and Dovie is just a nick name, but I'm not sure about that. She married William Manning COX, born 5 Feb 1888 in Ozark, Franklin, Arkansas. I don't know when they where married. I think that they lived in Oklahoma sometime after they were married, though. I'm looking for a lead on Dovie Jean's parents, for which I have no information. From researching the 1900 Alabama census I have found two possible familes: In Florence, Lauderdale, Alabama Berry SHARP b.Dec 1860 Dolly SHARP b.jul 1862 Mollie SHARP b. mar 1884 James SHARP b. Apr 1886 Eula SHARP b. Mar 1887 Nancy SHARP b. Feb 1888 Roxy SHARP b.Feb 1890 Chas. SHARP b. Jan 1893 "Dovie?" SHARP b. Aug 1894 Carrie SHARP b. Oct 1887 there are other childern with this family, Muncie, Benton, and Carroll. The other family: In Sanders, Jackson, Alabama Thomas H SHARP b. Mar 1865 Emma SHARP b. Apr 1884 Matha SHARP b. Apr 1885 Joel SHARP b. Jan 1892 "Dovie?" SHARP b. Jan 1896 Della SHARP b. May 1901 Unfortunitly, neither is written very clear and I don't feel confident in which is right. Does anyone out there have information that can confirm or deny that they have a child by the name of Dovie or Louise Jean SHARP who married a William Manning COX? Thanks for any help out there.
