And I need help with mine too. My line starts with Edward, who died in Botetourt Co., Va., in 1770. His widow and his executor, bought land for his sons, Anthony and James, in what became Eastern Tennessee, in the Holston River area. The widow married again, to a man named Kerr, and her land (received by grant from North Carolina) was in what now is known as Sullivan County. It was near that of her sons and also of her sister and brother in law, the Looneys, and her brother and family, the McClellans. Anthony married Rachel Ellison in Shelby County, Ky., in 1794, daughter of James and Jane Ellison (or Allison, it is spelled both ways), who died before 1800 in East Tennessee, in Sullivan County. Rachel and her three sisters inherited the land, and Anthony sold it in 1804 before he moved his family on to Christian County, Ky. I know James was living in the area, but I am not sure what happened to him. I would be happy to share the info that I have, and I would love to learn more!!!! love joan For this is the day that the Lord hath made Join me in rejoicing in it, and let us be glad!
