    1. Re: [SHARP-L] TN Holston River Area
    2. Lois, This is what I know from a widows petition for pension - my ancestor, William SHARP enlisted in the Continental Army in Baltimore County, MD. I guess he signed on several times. After his last tour in Maryland he went to the Holston River in what was then NC (now TN - according to the petition). After arriving on the Holston River, he was immediately drafted for a war against the Indians. After fighting the Indians, he returned to Baltimore County, MD. and married Elizabeth James on 13 Sep 1782. Sometime around the turn of the century, they settled on Brush Creek, Casey County, KY (At the time they settled it was Lincoln County, VA) I think he may have gone to the Holston River area with his family prior to 1782 and came back for his girlfriend who he then married. I'm really trying to find out who Williams parents are. I didn't see any William mentioned in your reply but he may be a brother to someone who is mentioned. Respectfully, Scott Sharp
