    2. In a message dated 2/6/2000 4:28:36 AM Central Standard Time, Harry writes: << I am currently researching my Sharp line in western Pa. I have line back to Joseph born 1780, lived in area that was Westmoreland Co., Pa., married to Anna Neely (daughter of Thomas Neely). Information notes that Joseph's father was Nehemiah and grandfather was Edward...but have not evidence beyond the fact that both were in the area at the right time. Would like to share research. Harry Sharp >> Harry I don't know if I can help you, but I am struck by the similarity of names in my Sharp line. The earliest known ancestor that I have pinned down is Edward Sharp, who was in western Virginia along the James River in 1750-1770 when he died. It is most probable that he came from Pennsylvania with other settlers who migrated down the Shenandoah trail. I have been in contact with researchers who contend that my Edward is the son of Henry Sharp, who was son of Edward Sharp (wife named Sarah?) of Pennsylvania, probably but not necessarily original immigrant. Henry supposedly had several brothers, one of whom may have been named Nehemiah, others Anthony, William and Jeremiah. Now none of this is proven, and I do not have supporting documentation. I am just offering it as a possibility, and if anyone, including you, can come up with supporting evidence either pro or con, I sure would like to hear it. love joan
