Charles, I have a Sarah Ann Sharp, b. abt. 1811 in New York, d. Feb. 15, 1886 in Sherman Twp., Newaygo Co., MI. She m. Orson Artemus David who was b. Sept. 4, 1811 in New York and d. April 8, 1876 in Dayton Twp., Newaygo Co., MI. Both are buried at the Pioneers Cemetery in Newaygo Co., MI. We aren't sure where this family came from in NY, but between 1835 and 1837, they moved to Geauga Co., OH where they were enumerated in 1840. Between 1840 and 1850 the moved to Michigan. They were enumerated twice in 1850, once in Hillsdale Co., and once in Jackson Co., perhaps b/c they lived close to the county line. Orson's brother lived in Branch Co. By 1860 the family had relocated to Newaygo Co. It could be possible that you John was a brother to my Sarah, and Sarah and Orson may have moved to Newaygo because Sarah already had family living there. Do you see a connection? There are many, many Sharps in the vital records and cemetery records of Newaygo Co. Barbara Dean
