    3. I've got a little info on Granville Sharp but not in your time frame but it might help you out some. Granville Sharp, ninth son of the Rev. Thomas Sharp, D. D., Prebendary of the Cathedrals and Collegiate Churches of York, Southwell and Durham, and grandson of Dr. John Sharp, Archbishop of York, born and educated in the bosom of the Church of England, etc. Granville Sharp, to whom England owes the glorious verdict of her highest court of law, that the slave who sets his foot on British ground becomes at that instant free. Born....Nov. 10th, 1735. Died...July 6th, 1813 at the age of 78. There is also a footnote that says "insert Thomas before Granville". So I guess his full name is Thomas Granville Sharp? Also have info on his Grandfather...Rev. Thomas Sharp. Info taking from book named "Sharpe Genealogy and Miscellany" ----- Original Message ----- From: <AlwaysLynne@aol.com> To: <SHARP-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 09, 2002 9:05 PM Subject: Re: [SHARP-L] Sharps of Madison County, Alabama > My brick wall in the SHARP line is Granville B. 3. Charles: I had a grandfather named John Henry Dewey Sharp who was born in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana in April, 1899. So, I'd be very interested in learning more about where I could get info from or where I could purchase the "Sharpe Genealogy" book that you mentioned. His father was Joseph William Sharp 10/1851 to 7/1924, and Joseph's father was Zachariah Sharp, 1/1823 to 1/1895. Do you think any of these lines would be in the book? 1. [SHARP-L] Re: John Sharp of Waddington, New York
    2. William Brooks Hull
    3. Hi Charles, The brief outline of "John Sharpe of Waddington" in W. C. Sharpe's book, Sharpe Genealogy and Miscellany (1880) was where I started some years ago. John Sharp and Harriet Short were my 4th-great-grandparents. John was the son of Michael Sharp and Elizabeth Carp, German immigrants who had lived around Red Hook or Rhinebeck, New York, in the 1750s. Michael's mother, Anna Barbara (Mathess) Scherp, was my first generation immigrant ancestor in this line, and I am working on documenting her descendants. Yes, I would be interested in copies of info on the first couple of generations of your Sharp line. I maintain a file of miscellaneous New York Sharp families, and sometimes have made a connection between them. Bill
