A cousin of mine has done alot of research and I have info from him, his info has nothing on a Gysbert in the family. Can I ask where you find him at? Thank you for your help Jenny
hi lisa sorry, must have overlooked your email, or not realized it was you! Valerie
Well Scott I was wondering the same thing about you as well. I emailed you a few times and your sister as well but got no answer. I haven't found out anything else on William Sharp who married Elizabeth James since the last time I talked to you. Have you? Gysbert was an apparent son of Andreis Hanse Scherp. I can't prove this is correct, but have done some preliminary research and believe it to be the case. Bill Hull
The Mormon Church, having a deep interest in genealogy, has a magnificent library in Salt Lake City. Their web site accesses some of those records. Much of the information has been contributed and is not necessarily verified, but it can get you headed in the right direction. Good Luck, Ann

Lisa, Right at the moment, I don't think there is a connection. My line: Cornelius Sharp born in NY died in Franklin Co., OH Cornelius Sharp born in NY 1806 died in Douglas Co., IL Married in Pickaway Co., OH Francis Sharp born in Pickaway Co., OH died in Neosho Co. Married in Douglas Co., IL Francis Sharp settled in the Thayer/Galesburg area. He is buried in the Thayer Cemetery. A brother is located also there. I believe some sisters also joined him - Hudson, Bolinger, Neely. My grandfather owned either K&K Electric or Knapp Electric up to 1939 when he died. My great grandfather, Will Knapp, was a foreman with the Oil Refinery and then owned a gas station into the 1940's. And no other Knapp's in Neosho Co. Geoffrey "Lisa L. Can you tell me what the LDS Family Search Site is? I am pretty new at all of this and have not heard of this. Thank you
If you haven't already been there, you'll find quite a bit on this family on the LDS FamilySearch site. I thought Gerritt might have a sister named Ester/Esther--but no luck. Ann

Jenny, I have a Biography sketch of Arzy F. Sharp from Wilson Co., KS Arzy is a son of Christopher Sharp and Mary Oldham. Cornelius Sharp (brother of Garrett) Cornelius Sharp + Sarah Rush (born in 1806 in NY) Francis Sharp + Mary Chaney I'll send you the word doc to you. Cousin, Geoffrey Knapp
I am sorry all of my Sharp/Scherp's are from New York and Ohio areas none are from your area as far as I know that is. And your names do not ring a bell neither, i am sorry.
