    1. Re: [SHARP-L] Software opinions
    2. Keith Alan Sellers
    3. I have FTM 7.0 and Generations 5.2. Generations produces trees that can be posted on the net, making it easier to share information(and hopefully gain information). Since I have been busy at entering data from several family books (I've been using FTM since I got that program first and am used to using it more). I haven't been using the family finder of the FTM and the "reseach" functions of Generations yet, since I want to have all of my own info in before I start searching. It appears that Generations has some searching features that FTM doesn't, since you can specify "filters" to filter out the inofrmation that you want. While I on here can anyone help me with: Descendants of David Sharp 1 David Sharp 1830 - 1896 . +Annie Sellers 1822 - 1901 ........ 2 Robert Sharp 1849 - 1941 ........ 2 Edward Wexler Sharp 1851 - 1931 ................... 3 Emily Masina Sharp 1883 - 1962 ....................... +Robert Kitkarthe Pless 1881 - 1942 ................... 3 David H. 3. Yes, I am interested in opinions of "Generations", also. Have been reading about it. Also, wondering about "Master Genealogist" program. Have been reading on it as well. Having started with PAF to FTM to Master Genealogist... then computer crashed... then FTM then PAF then Master Genealogist, LOL. I'm picking one and sticking with it! I am using Master Genealogist because of the multiple tags features, ability to source individual components of tags (i.e., I can pinpoint whether the source relates to date only or place only, etc.) I'm having a bit of trouble with the reports, but I'll live. I have always preferred PAF's Pedigree Charts (and their companion disk had some gorgeous Family Group Sheets), and I love FTM's Outline Descendent Tree (and ease of use). You can download a trial version of TMG (The Master Genealogist) at www.whollygenes.com (I believe you can download it). I don't know anything about Generations or any other program. Susan Marston
