    1. [SHARP-L] Location of Sharp Cemetery, Maury Co
    2. Roxana Jones
    3. The directions are taken from a book, "Maury County Cemeteries." (Take Carpenter's Bridge Rd. south from Hwy 99. Go about 1 1/2 miles. Turn left on narrow lane, for 200 yards.) There are Sharp's, Jones', Lovett's, Carpenter's, Hardison's, Martin's, Neathery's, Sealy's, etc. buried there. I will try to scan or re-type the information and put it on the rootsweb for those who might find it useful.

    3. Hi Lister's, Wow,I came back from a long weekend vacation to a load of Sharp activity here on the list!!! While the going's good,I guess I'll dive in with my Sharp interest! Does anyone out there have a Tamar Sharp who was married to a Daniel Baker pre 1858 from the Delaware or Chester County area in Pa? I'm going to the FHC first thing tomorrow, but I thought I'd throw this out to all the Sharp surfer's out there. Tamar and Daniel Baker had a son named John Baker who inturn married an Ida Markwood and they had a son name Howard Baker. I'm checking on some leads as to my Tamar Sharp, but I have no information as to her parents or her b/m/d records as of yet. It would be such a blessing to come upon someone who is swiming these same water's. 1. [SHARP-L] Sharps of Pennsylvania
    2. Harry Sharp
    3. I agree with you all. I have never in over 30 years of research found so many queries concerning a surname as the number for the various Sharp Lines. This causes me to add my Penna. Line once again. I have Joseph Sharp of the old Westmoreland Co., Pa. born 1780, married Anna Neely of same County. Anna's father was Samuel Neely (But...we have 2/3 Samuel Neelys in place at that date). Family legend suggests that Joseph's Father could have been Nehemiah Sharp and Grandfather: Edward Sharp. It is also noted that this part of Penna. (southwestern Pa.) was in contest between Virginia and Penna. until after the RW. So...it is always possible that this Sharp line came up from Virginia. Any help will be appreciated. Harry Sharp

    2. Thelma, I was always wondered why my great-grandparents left Delaware County & moved to Wayne, Ohio in the early 1900's? After their death, they brought them back to Muncie, Indiana for burial in the 1940's. Several of their children stayed in Ohio, while 3 of the daughters stayed in Indiana. Marilyn Danville, IN

    3. Sgtwendy The line of Sharps in Anderson co Tn. are of my line. I am not sure how. I believe there was a brother to my Matthew Sharp bn 1776 went to Anderson. Matthew came out of Va. to SC Then to Burke county Ga, on to Baldwin and finally settled in Stewart county Ga. He died there after 1850. His son Joshua A Sharp made his way to Angelina county Tx in 1877 He brought his whole family with him. One of Matthews grandsons was Henry Z Sharp. In 1889 he married in Anderson county Tx. and left forthright and traveled to Anderson County Tn. Where his first child was bn. Henry was a visiting man. He stayed on the road a lot. I dont know if he was a salesman or what, but he would come to visit the Angelina county bunch abt 3 times a yr. He was also visiting kin in Tn. Now how we can tie I dont know but it is there. I have not been able to find Matthews parents but I think another brothers name was Fielding Sharp. Richard Sharp

    3. David Nation was not direct to our Nations. He was the descendant of Joseph Nation and Jeretta Vickery Nation. Joseph was a brother of William, the ancestor of our line. Yes David married a Samantha Van Metre. If dates are right, he married Carrie 4 months after Samantha's death. A lot of the Nations desc. of Joseph went to Ind. and I have seen the Sharps but no idea who they are. Some of the Sharps from Tn. went to Preble Co. and other counties of Ohio. Quite a few Nations ended up in Preble Co. and the Tillmans. 2. Hi Thelma I am researching John Sharp, b. 1794 in Shelby Co., KY. His father's name was also John Sharpe. I have no information on him. When I read you post, I saw the name Graves. Our John Sharp married Elizabeth Graves Leatherman, and thought you might have some information I could use. I am at a dead end. I have always been told they were of German descent. Thanks.....
