He lived in the "town" of New Lots in Kings County, NY. He was a farm laborer. The 1880 Census still has him in Kings County, NY, but he is married (to KATIE -- also from Ireland), and has a son John. This one has his age at 30. His address was 260 Nassau Street, Kings County, NY. The 1900 Census has him and his brood at 156 Spencer Street, Brooklyn, Kings County, NY. It has his D.O.B. as June 1858. His children are JOHN, WILLIAM, ALEXANDRA?, VALIE, AND CASWELL. The 1920 Census has him at the same address, but his son John is listed as head of household.
