Hi Janice, My SHANNONs also have a link to Workington. Isabella SHANNON was married at St. Michael's Parish Church, Workington to Jonas WELLS in 1874 (Jonas was born in Bradford, Yorkshire). Their first child, Charles, was born in Scotland in 1875, but my grandfather, Robert Shannon WELLS was born in Cockermouth in 1876(he was baptised at St. Michael's). I also found another marriage in St. Michael's for an Elizabeth SHANNON (whose father was Robert SHANNON, occupation: baker). I am not sure if this is Isabella's sister.
