WHile my Shannons came over in 1849 to Canada them to Ill. and fought for the Union. The idea that Scotland and names connect is interesting. Can anyone establish a connection from Scotland to Northern Ireland abot the early 1700s? James Shannon in Co. Antrim in the early 1700s is as far back as I can go.
