Shannon Springs Cem. has lots of field stones in it, so there is quite a few people buried there. It is an old family cemetery, founded by Hugh Shannon. There's an old marker in the cemetery that reads, "Uncle Tom, a faithful servant came from Virginia to Kentucky then to Missouri in 1829 with Hugh Shannon. The founder of this home stead.
