I am so interested in your email. I live in Ontario and I am so interested in your James Shannon. I have all my Shannons (from Coleraine) but the furthest back I get is 1834. Please email me with details of your James Shannon and anyone between him and 1800's. I have lots of info after that. My dad was told they came originally from Scotland to Ireland in the early 1700's so maybe we can help each other. I am so excited that there may be a possiblity that we have some info to share.
