It's a real pity that there isn't an equivalent service in the UK. I would love to get to see my father's WWII record - I believe it would make facsinating reading. He joined up in 1939, said he was 17 (he was actually 15), wounded in first day of action, after recuperation sent to South Africa in the intelligence corps (SAS).
