Linda, There was an Alexander Shannon, son of Thomas Shannon and Mary Reid, who was born in 4 April 1769 in Amherst Co. VA, married Elizabeth Wallace in Madison Co. KY on 2 April 1795, moved to Rush Co. Indiana in the mid 1820's where he died 15 June 1843. He apparently also married an Agnes R. Brown. Among his children were both a Nancy and a David (I have no dates for them). This could be the Alexander Shannon you are looking for. The name Alexander comes from Mary Reid's father, Alexander Reid of Amherst Co. KY.
