Widget, You are right on Alexander Reid and Jane Shannon. The 3 March date was the date the marriage bond was issued, but their family bible lists the marriage a day later. You will also find a 22 Oct 1792 marriage bond issued in Bedford Co. VA for John Shannon (Jane's brother) and Jane Reid (Alexander's sister) with a marriage three days later. They also settled in Shelby Co. KY. About 1833 Alexander and Jane along with other related families from Shelby Co. KY migrated to Lincoln Co. MO. I have a lot of material on this line, including the Alexander Reid & Jane Shannon Bible. If Jane's parents, Thomas Shannon and Mary Reid are the Shannons you are linked to, then I have a some of reconstruction of their other descendant lines.
