I have been following the Shannon Digest for awhile now. I still do not understand the connection. The "Reid" Shannons and then the Joseph Shannon son of Thomas are two separate lines...different families? Is this the same Joseph that my David Armstrong Shannon belongs too? Where did my David Shannon get the "Armstrong". Can anyone out there help me out? Didn't they all originate in PA or KY or even VA?. Wasn't this area in the part of the country that was one state one year, another state the next year? I have had a time trying to figure out what state to search during a time period. I attached the following message because this is what is confusing me.
