Hi Mike, Do you know of John b. 1754/5 & Jane (Dunlap) Shannon that lived in Rockland, abt. 10 miles South of Franklin, Pa. Venango Co.. in their later years they went to live with their 2 sons, IIJohn and Alexander Shannon, who lived side by side on 100 acre farm's. IJohn & Jane (Dunlap) Shannon had lived in the area of Mercersburg/Chamberburg, in Franklin Co. Pa. raising 10 children there. The oldest child was Agnes, married William McCune, and they stayed in the Franklin Co. area.. The rest of the family moved up to Penn's Valley, in Centre Co. Pa. near Bellefonte, Pa. some of this family did go to Meigs Ohio etc. IJohn was born in Washington Co. Md. His marriage to Jane is still on record in the Court House & Historical Center. IJohn had served in the Am. Rev. War. He's on record in the DAR books as a Patriot. There is also another John Shannon family that settled in Shannondale, and some of the families still live there.
