Thomas Shannon b. around 1720-23 in order to have money for 1740 patent. wife, Mary, is in the 1797 will of Thomas Shannon, as are his last three children, Joseph inheriting homestead and 300 acres, Samuel inheriting a few pence, and Mary with her husband, Henry Cowley, inheriting the adjacent house and land on which they now live. There is also a young Thomas Shannon, his grandson, living with Mary and Henry for which he gives a sum to be divided until he comes of age, and Henry is to divide it up to him. In the years between I have lots of tax reports and inhabitants lists, etc, but no other mention of names on these. I would imagine he would be a son of Andrew Shannon, rather than a grandson.
