Hi list, I need your help. For years, I have seen the marriage date for Thomas Shannon and Agnes Crow as Jan 20, 1778 and marriage places such as Poplar Hill, Giles County, Va, Montgomery County, Va, or not known. Giles County was not formed until 1806, so it couldn't be in Giles County. Montgomery County would be my guess, but I have never found a marriage record in the Montgomery County Court House. So if no marriage record can be found, then how does everyone know the date is Jan 20, 1778? Please tell me someone found it in a family bible. Thomas and Agnes CROW Shannon are my husband's ggg-grandparents. Thanks in advance for any information on our line.
