Welthy, I would bet your Thomas Shannon is related to ours. Our Thomas was the grandson of Thomas Shannon and wife Mary. The lived in York Co. PA. Their daughter, Mary is his mother, and he lived with Mary and Henry Cooley, according to the will of Thomas Shannon Sr. Then they moved to Ross Co. OH, and Thomas was a purchaser at the estate in 1813 of Henry Cooley who died at this time. Thomas by then was grown up and probably married. Then about 1830, I think the group moved to Indiana. Thomas had an uncles, Joseph and Samuel Shannon, brothers of his mother, Mary. He probably would have named his sons, Thomas and Joseph. We have corresponded before. If you would like copies of the will or estate, etc, I would send them to you.
