Beimer, The Thomas Shannon you refer to was a brother of John and Samuel. Samuel was my Gr-Gr-Gr-Great Grandfather. When Samuel Shannon came of age, he took his inheirtance and moved south to Rockfish River in Va. Thomas went with him and died there in 1772, single. Samuel moved on down into what is now Giles Ca.,Va. His first son he named for his father and brother. When the rest of the family moved west into Tnn., Capt. Thomas Shannon stayed at Poplar Hill,Va.
