    3. Mike, I did it! First I got a Joseph Shannon scientist in Ariz. but then I typed in Joseph Shannon in Pennsylvania and got a huge list of hundreds of Shannons, and there were 16 Thomas Shannons. Unfortunately none born within the 1720-25 time frame that our Thomas must have had, since he was buying a patent in 1743 from William Penn's sons, near Gettysburg. He lived there all his life, till he died in 1797, still on same 300 acres which he gave his son, Joseph in the 1797 will. I wonder if he was the Shannon emigrant for our family. Will have to look for ships lists for 1700-1740. Do you have a Philladelphia Ships destination list? Thanks for your help.
