Jan, my John Shannon, b. 1755, Md. was in the Am. Rev. War. He m. Jane Dunlap from Mercersburg, Adams Co. Pa. where they had 7 children and then moved to Centre Co. Pa. where another child was born. Their remaining days were spent in Rockland, 10-12 miles S.W. of Franklin, Venango with their sons, John II & Alexander Shannon. The library in Franklin has much info on the family.
