Shannon Stuff # 3 I'm looking for the parents of my GGrandfather, Finus W. Shannon (b. abt 1829). I have seen him listed as FINUS, FINIS, and FINIUS. I have also seen him listed as William F. Shannon. Joyce Bridges posted a list of Tennessee mariages, 11/14/99. In this list is Finius W. Shannon, married Michael M. Randall, 1865, Lawrence Co.,TN. Finius and Michael were both in their late thirtys when they married. It is possible that one or both had been married before since this marriage took place at the end of the Civil war. Finius and Michael had two children, T. J. Shannon married, M. C. Goad, 1892, Lawrence co., TN Toledo Ann Shannon married Ralph "Ira" Jordan, 1887, Lawrence Co., TN. Toledo (Lee, Ledo) shannon and Ralph (Ira) Jordan were my Grandpaents. The connections with the Randalls is interesting. Jefferson Shannon, married Rachel Randall, The Finis w. Shannon, b. abt 1800, 2nd marriage was to Anna Randall. My GGrandmother Michael Randall. In the 1880 Lawrence Co., TN the Children of Finius and Michael were in the household of Jacob Copeland and Abigail RANDALL Copeland. I am thinking that Abigail Randall was a sister to Michael Randall. Who is the father of Finius W. Shannon? Could it be Thomas, brother of Finis W. Shannon and Son of David Shannon and Jane McNight? They had a child born about the right time. Except for the name, I don't haven't seen anything to indecate that he could be a son of the earlier Finus W. Shannon. HELP, HELP !!! Carey Jordan
