Her mother may have been a Shannon. Her father was Nathaniel James Booth,or some combination of those names. Corine married Benjamin Wofford Chatham in Jasper County, MS. Corine Booth and her Booth relatives she was sent to in Jasper County as an orphan child were most probably related to John Wilkes Booth. Our Robert ssrelatives have some information on this. I am interested in the Shannon connection and also Cherokee heritage my great aunt spoke of,but had no details. I am Paula Cussen Herring in Gulfport,Ms. Corine was born in1855 and is buried in Green Valley cemetery in the Rose Hill comunity of Jasper County. Most of these ancestors came from North Carolina. My father's mother was a Shannon also. That side of the family settled in Chicago. My parents met in California and had no idea there were Shannon's on both sides back in the old country. I would like to hear from you about your Shannon ancestry. I hope to visit Ireland for the purpose of looking for Shannon and Cussen relatives.
