While so many of you are here, I have a question to ask? Have any of you ran across a Francis Shannon b. abt.1818 in Pa. Who is parents were? That's all I know. This info is from following his life in Census's. The farthest back we have been able to go is his marriage to Nancy Jane Allen 1939 in Fayette Co. There chrildren were named: Lucetta, Arvilla, Francis Freemomt, Alice Ann, Robert Thrift, James S. & Elmer S. Maybe some of them where named for his siblings, I can't say. Freemont come from the Freemont Expodution, that Francis was on, when his first son was borned. Thrift was after the last name of a Dr. that lived near by, in Putnam Co. Oh., & may have delivered him. James S. hasn't been found after the 1880 census with a wife Jenna & son Ora J. Elmer, we have pic of with his wife. No name or place where the pic was taken. Early in the 1880's the parents followed 2 daus to Ia. If James & Elmer went, I have no idea. Francis Freemont was also in Mills Co Ia. by the late 1880's. Francis also went to the "Gold Fields" with a group of men from Fayette Co. If any of this sounds fimailer to you, I would apprecate hearing about what you have to say. Thank's for listening.
