    3. I can't make the connection for your Mary, but I suspect she connects with my Shannons. I believe the Andrew in the census is connected to them too. One reason I think she is "one of ours" is the name "Duncan." But how the connection works? There I fail you. Nevertheless, here is an outline of what I know. William and Katherine Shannon recorded a deed for 395 A of land on Turkey Creek in Greenbrier County of what is now West Virginia, in 1787. The farm lay between Turkey Creek and Dropping Lick Creek about five miles south of the present town of Union in what is now Monroe County, West Virginia. They were there at the time of the 1783 Census. In 1794 they sold 195 A to Sarah Henderson. The next year they sold the rest, 200A, to Walter Neal, and moved to TN. They lived on the Clinch River, eighteen miles from Knoxville.
