    3. Is anyone out there related to or know about the ancestors of my SHANNONS who came to the Kingston, Ontario, area from Ireland in 1820? William Shannon was born Jan. 17, 1817 and died in Canada Nov. 14, 1901. He married Ellenor McNeely Apr. 5, 1842. His father was Robert whose first wife was ? Aldridge and 2nd wife Margaret Bates. They were Wesleyan Methodists. One source (1901 census for Frontenac County, Ontario) says this family came from County Down but others say County Cork. I've been stuck at this point for a long time. Sincerely, Esther Crebbin Mitchell Victoria, Canada

    3. I thought I would share a little Shannon trivia with the list. Yesterday, (March 3, 2002) my dad, George Verdelle Shannon had a brief life history published in the Paris, TX newspaper. On Feb. 22, 2002 he turned 90 years old. I posted the article on the internet at http://www2.1starnet.com/cgenzel/daddy.htm It takes a while for the graphics to load and you may have to click on refresh to view them all.
