Dear Janice, I saw your posting on the Wisconsin boards and it's like you're clairvoyant. I was toying with the same "poor house" idea for a relative who was last known to be in Spencer Iowa, which I guess is in Clay County somewhere. His name was ROBERT D. SHANNON and he was originally from Chippewa Falls, WI. He was about 60+ years old in 1942-44, the last known location and time frame for him. Do you know if there were any kinds of roll sheets or other public documents for that time period? Maybe he was in jail or prison or something too? Janice, if you do "for fee" genealogy work, or know a reputable person who does, I'd like to contract for some work. Your articulate posting caught my eye. Please let me know either way as I'm eager to get moving on this phase of my family tree.
